The Edwards Est 6290A-281 Fixed heat sensor, provided with the P-847674 Sensor Base, provides analog data to a control panel. The Edwards Est 6290A-281 heat detector operates as both a fixed temperature (135°F,57°C) and rate-of-rise detector. Also, the detector has two LEDs mounted 180° apart for 360° visibility. In addition, the two LEDs operate as a single one would.
Besides, if the temperature of the center disk rises to the detector’s rated temperature (135°F(57°C)), contacts the detector close. When actuated by the fixed temperature element, the detector is nonrestorable and must be replaced. The need for replacement is indicate when the center disk has fallen free.
Installation instructions:
- Select location for detector on the ceiling. Do not locate in the direct path of the hot or cold airflow
- Set address and type code using the dip switches located on the heat detector.
- Record address and type code settings on the label on the front of the heat detector transponder so that it is visible after installation
- Mount steel ring to electrical box using screws supplied with a box
- The sensor base mounts on a standard North American 3-1/2″ (89mm) or 4″ (102mm) octagonal box.
- Data power for the heat detector transponder and base are supplied via the data line. This is a 2-wire shielded, half-duplex, asynchronous, serial communications line coming from the control panel. The loop control circuit is connected to the detector base. The detector plugs into the base.
- The loop controller signaling line going to the sensor base is polarize. Observe polarity before making connections. All installation wires must be free from grounds, opens or shorts.
- Maximum allowable resistance and capacitance of the shielded loop wiring are specified by the control panel.
